When you say "Most repubs live uneasily with the Don", I think you need

to add "leaders" or "Elected" or something like that. As in, Republicans in office or who are part of the party apparatus live uneasily with him.

But if "most republicans" is the party members or voters who voted republican, then the statement is true. If republicans are 1/2 of the voting electorate (about) and if Don has a pretty much unshakable 30 to 35% support base, then that's 3/5ths of the Republican voters....which being greater than 50% is "most republicans"

So yeah, I don't think most of the leadership is truly buying the bullshit....but they also sure aren't opposing it TOO strenuously for fear of alienating "Most republicans".
