I still say the root cause
comes down to kids just being inexcusably mean to each other. If they would stop making life a living hell for the unpopular kids, there wouldn't be a need to lash out.
Sure, kids everywhere are mean. And the bullied kids in other countries don't grab a gun and take it to school in retaliation. But none of that justifies being mean in the first place.
Instead of looking to the President, or the SCOTUS, or their Governor, or even their School Board, maybe the kids need to look in a mirror first to find the solution to school shootings.
I am not one for blaming the victim. What a woman wears or who she smiles at doesn't authorize anyone to rape her. But when someone goes out of their way to make another person's life hell for no reason whatsoever other than they find it amusing, then they are hardly blameless in this mess.
And while I haven't reviewed every case, the school shooters I have looked at all seemed to be the cast offs, the social misfits, the bullied, and the virtually friendless. And we honestly wonder why people like that have a lot of pent up rage?
