Lying to the FBI isn't collusion. Yes, there were shady characters on Trump
Trump's team with unsavory business dealings. That isn't evidence of the Trump campaign working with Russians to alter the election. It's evidence of wrongdoing for which they were charged.
It's odd to see the vacillation between the claims:
Trump colluded with Russians to steal our democracy
&
"collusion" is a made up term by the Trump team to distract from obstruction / various other crimes.
I expect that Mueller will eventually provide a thorough accounting of events around the election. Right now, however, there are a lot of people making assumptions to fit their ideology, and ignoring information that would derail their speculation train.
Perfect example was the Nikki Haley kerfuffle last week. Backing off that round of sanctions was yet more proof that Trump is a Russian stooge. Completely ignored were the sanctions from a week prior that slammed oligarchs close to Putin, their businesses, the Ruble, and their overall stock market. Somehow, I suspect that if the admin was ready, and proceeded as Haley suggested, it would have been ignored much the same (or considered misdirection).
Personally, I find the working theory of traitorous back-room dealing between the Trump campaign and Russia to be farfetched. It reminds me a lot of the Benghazi "investigation". It's more likely that the special counsel will similarly find meaningful threads to pull apart from the initial claim (e.g. HRC's server). My money is on problematic financial dealing in the Trump business, or some other bomb out of left field.
