I have lived in VA for more than 50 of my years. I do not care what

anyone says, VA is among the most racist states in the union and I have visited them all save Nebraska (Go Big Red!) My elementary school wasn't even desegregated until 1969 and that was one 2nd grade girl! 15 years after Brown decision. I have had friends from Mississippi comment laughingly about how they see more confederate flags here then "back home."

I love VA dearly, but none of this surprises me one iota. I am waiting for someone to peruse the mid-80s Corks and Curls volumes. That is when I was attending UVA. I would be very surprised (sadly) if it didn't contain the same sort of stuff.
