the rights to her music. I have no problem with someone like Swift making a ton of money off off their music, but I DO have a problem if they then whine about the consequences and the loss of freedom to do what they want with "their" music after selling the rights. No, Taylor "Neither of those men had a hand in the writing of those songs"... but if YOU didn't sell the rights to those songs, you would have 100% control over what you can do with the songs.

I realize also that often times in music, the industry holds a lot of power over individual artists.. particularly early in their career, but that also comes in exchange for promotion of an unknown artist. If Swift signed her rights away early in her career before she was famous, I'm a *little* more sympathetic to her complaint, but then would we even know who Swift is today if a record label hadn't signed her and promoted her when she was an unknown artist.
