Good article. I know this is anecdotal on my part, but a while back I would
watch Live PD on A&E almost every night as I was going to sleep. For those that haven’t watched it, it’s basically a police scanner but with video. Camera crews just basically follow around police departments around the country live while they’re on duty. It’s literally just raw video. Not meant to be like a reality show or anything.
Anyway, if you watch just a couple hours of that show, you frequently see situations where the police officers are a little bit overly aggressive when it comes to handling physical altercations. It happens with white, black and Hispanic people. It happens with white cops, black cops and Hispanic cops.
Bottom line, police brutality is a problem that needs to be worked on as we’ve seen. When it’s always turned into a racial conversation, it creates more division when it doesn’t need to. We’re all on the same side.
