people who have had COVID are immune to it moving forward. Nor do we know if having it one time and not having a severe case means the next experience with it will be the same. There just isn't that type of information available.

We can probably assume you're immune to reinfection for *some* period of time after you had it and beat it, but that may just be weeks or a few months. Again, we don't know. And there's a reason we tend to catch colds every year and need to get flu vaccines every September.
