I’m not sure I’m comfortable with either scenario.
A. Does the type of person carrying a gun just to draw a reaction really need to be doing so?
B. the person that is so fearful for their life that they feel the need to take one to the grocery store also doesn’t really inspire confidence in their mindset.
I prefer the guy with a concealed carry permit. For 1, out of sight out of mind. That’s not a legitimate justification for my beliefs but whatever. Two, I know the guy with the concealed carry permit went through an extra level of vetting.
This guy could very well have a concealed carry permit or could also have been a plain clothes officer stopping at the store on the way home from work. The problem with the open carry laws is there is no way to differentiate that guy from the general yahoo which leads to a level of mistrust.
