The nature of electoral votes makes "historic ass kicking" unlikely. IE,

ie won't be McGovern levels because he's popular enough, still in many states where he'll get more than 17 electoral votes.

But yes, I certainly hope that it ends up being the biggest ass kicking in 45 years or so.
