But I can blame the Donald for a lot of other things over his handling of this. I can guarantee you I wouldn't have worn a mask and insisted all Americans do, initially. They were saying not to do that. But I think at this point, it's beyond stubborn on Trump's part. Initially, no. Because the dialogue out of the gate on it, as with many other things, was moving goalposts.
Each day in the early days, we would get a report contradicting or changing the narrative of guidelines the day before. That's trending to have continued, mostly, we just have some solid data or at least more baked data. So likely, my position would have been a wait and see kind of one. I wouldn't have had the blowhard effect of Trump but initial activity would have been the same, with a lot less narrative.
Of course, at a certain point, I'd have reacted much differently and probably more decisively. But I was definitely one who thought we were going overboard. I have a friend in France who was warning on this and I was like, well, she is nuts, generally. And she is. She did a whole video on what "they" were doing in France. And I was like, no, I won't wash my groceries with disinfectant. No, I won't strip down and wash my clothes the minute I come home from being out and about. And so I haven't, nor my wife. So far that's proven to be correct, maybe we will pay. I tend to believe half of what I read and less of what I see. That might be stupid but it's served me well for 53 years, so far.
I might say, I'd have done things similarly but with better leadership style and a lot less bluster. Alas, no one worth a lick wants the job. And I'm not saying I'm close to worth a lick. But we get what we get out of people who think really highly of themselves and are used to being coddled and ass kissed. I'm super excited to see who wins in November, not.
I'm not defending Trump in this instance, at all. I just don't blame him for the Covid. I blame him for not leading decisively or positively. I blame him for other things. But I really feel it could be worse. And I think we will get there, unfortunately. But then again, one thing I do know with very good factual testimony, quite a few deaths attributed to the Covid are not from it. That's another story. So I'll go with my original theme of believe half of what you read and less of what you see. And be cool to your mates and neighbors.
