But walking around or approaching a vehicle with a long gun is problematic. If it’s slung across your back that’s the equivalent of a holstered handgun. If you have it at the low ready, that’s the equivalent of an unholstered handgun in your hand. Either can be perceived as a threat. I thought the same way about the clowns in Charlottesville and nothing has happened to change my mind. People cannot read your mind.
