I don't think Lee and Jackson would be considered traitors

in the Confederate States of America if the south had won and gained permanent independence.

And assuming the Confederate States of America were shamed/trade sanctioned into ending the abomination to humanity known as slavery shortly after winning independence, we might not consider them 'traitors' either, similar too how the British seem to hold no hard feelings towards Washington nearly 250 years later. That said, I think the cause of our founding fathers was a bit more noble than the cause of the confederacy, even if our founding fathers also had their flaws regarding the institution of slavery.

Edited to add: If the Confederate States of America had won and failed to join the civilized world and the institution of slavery was ended by the rest of the world through force, Lee and Jackson would likely be remembered more like Doenitz and Rommel.
