Eliminating the filibuster for appellate court judges was a mistake. Eliminating the filibuster for Supreme Court Justices was a mistake. Packing the court will be a mistake (because it will set precedent for doing the same every time there is a change in power).

Sitting on Garland's nomination was a mistake in the sense that it created hypocrisy in the current situation. In general I would have had no concerns with Garland being appointed or Garland being voted down, but sitting on it and refusing the hearing was a political mistake. I also have no concerns with Barrett being appointed or being voted down, but she should also go through the hearing/vote process accordingly.

These are perfect examples of parties changing the rules to suit their own selfish needs. It's out of hand on both sides and needs to stop before our government collapses under the weight of its own mismanagement.
