I don’t know if these stories are “bullshit” or not. To debate this...
Wasn’t the intent of my original post. But just to advance this discussion, let’s stipulate that it has yet to be indisputably determined to be bullshit. Does Twitter have the legal right to suppress sharing and discussing these stories? I’m no lawyer, but I suspect if this is challenged in a court of law, Twitter will lose and the ACLU will fully agree with the decision.
And as for your comparison regarding the WSJ and PBS Newshour not covering this story (at least not yet), that is not comparable to Twitter suppressing discussion of the story. The WSJ and PBS, like any news organization, have a journalistic right to report on whatever they deem newsworthy. The last time I checked, Twitter is not a news organization and doesn’t enjoy the same journalistic rights to report on or not report on specific news stories.
