1. Microaggression ... I don't really understand it, but it might be a generational thing. A threat is a threat ... battery is battery ... racism is racism ... microaggression feels like it's just being an asshole IN MY OPINION. I could be wrong. That should be debated and I have no problem with the idea being challenged.

2. And you're right. We need to hear UVA's side of the story. It's only fair. I said as much. However, hoomonger did say the case being adjudicated is a First Amendment issue. Regardless what happened afterwards, the recorded panel meeting appears to be a civil one. Hence, it's more about the right to challenging ideas. I think he has a point.

3. There might be more to the story after the panel. The irony is that posters overreacted to our faculty because they might have overreacted to a student's "microaggression." It smelled of hypocrisy. UVA could have made a mistake ... but don't make the faculty into some evil monsters. That's when narratives were pushed. I tried to call it out, but didn't want to push it on The Corner.

I don't think it's that hard to take a moderate position on the matter. Both parties could be in the wrong. Unfortunately, a lot of people have an agenda nowadays.
