fantastic article, it also got me thinking about the current state of our nation. There was just as much division and hate back then as is there is now and our nation survived.

And yes, she was just a girl - a 14 year old runaway.

Sorry if this article has already been discussed, but since our governing has gone back to some sort of normalcy (still far, far from perfect though) I just don't feel the need to come to the dark side as much as I used to.
