Obviously, football coaches are a coarser bunch than most office employees. But anybody on this board would be fired for putting what he said into an email if they're in a large company or government job. They would probably be fired for saying it at the water cooler if someone overheard them.

I've seen people on Twitter arguing that it isn't fair to dig through 10 years of emails and that everyone lives in glass houses. Well, I can say that if you dug through 10 years of my emails (professional and personal) there would be nothing firable or even remotely scandalous. It's not just about a "keep it off of email" thing (though obviously do that), because I can't even think of anything said aloud by me or to me in a professional setting in the past decade that rivals what was said here. If you're an ESPN employee and you're emailing an NFL employee, that's a professional setting even if you're friends. Realistically, the real scandal is that so many people in the NFL probably get away with saying this stuff or putting it into an email with nobody calling them on it.
