My dad lettered in FB at UVA and went Marines.

He could have done a lot of things, tried sales first and hated it and decided on the Marines in '50. He had tried to enlist in the Navy in '44 and wanted to be a fighter pilot but he was 17. They caught him but signed some kind of prenup for '45 but by the time he turned 18 WWII was over and the Navy was downsizing. He wound up fighting in Korea and Vietnam as infantry in the Marines. My mom retired as a Marine captain to give birth to my older sister, lol. I was born in Quantico.

Never wore the uniform but I'll cut anyone who F's with the Marines. ; )
