their objective, they could have done that much sooner, probably with much greater "effect", even plowing through or clipping spectators along the route. I heard some theories on the news that they may have been fleeing something, but their was never any sign of any pursuit whatsoever, plus they could have taken just a side street to avoid the parade impeding their flight. They also seemed to slow down briefly, almost to a stop, looking for a possible path through the paraders, then panicked maybe and just plowed right through the edge of them on the opposite side of the street from their path up until then. Just no rational explanation for any of it.
