Clinton or Obama would have done a speech explaining how gas prices work and how little any President can do about them, with historical examples. You don’t respond to demagoguing and misinformation by pretending to “do something,” which only validates the misinformation AND is extremely unlikely to affect the price of gas anyway.

He’s done a lot of good and has been wrongly criticized for things like the Afghan evacuation which actually went better than could have been reasonably hoped for, but this is a mis-step IMO.
