disregarding the law of the case and the weight of the evidence. The judge had his thumb on the scale, for the same reason, in refusing to give the prosecution's requested instruction on "citizen's arrest."

FWIW I do NOT like felony murder statutes, especially when the minimum sentence is the same--life imprisonment--as 1st degree, premeditated murder. You can be in on, say, a drug sale rip-off plan, with no knowledge that one of your accomplices is carrying a gun, thinking you're just going to beat the sucker up and take his money, when your trigger happy pal pulls out the gun you didn't know he had, and shoots and kills the guy.

This seems wrong to me, and while I don't like any of these guys I sure don't think Roddy Bryan ought to be in jail for life either without parole, or with parole possible only after 30 calendar years, the latter being his BEST case scenario barring successful appeal.
