My spidey sense says these companies don't want the world to see

that they could easily make up for the production lost from Russia.

Truthfully, I don't need my spidey sense to know that, since production reports tell us that total production was more than 10% (Russia's share) higher pre-COVID than it is now. So, oil can meet the demand and keep prices lower, they just don't want to.

This a manufactured crisis created by an industry that could have had it's influence significantly cut (while healing the planet) years ago if the world's countries/manufacturers could just act on strategic goals instead of tactical ones. Why isn't their a company out there that is increasing production to take advantage of these record margins? This can only happen if there is collusion within the market. Time for the FTC to get off their ass and start at least rattling The Sabre!

The only other solution? Consumers need to go out and buy an electric car/lawn-mower/trimmer/chain-saw etc. in order to make this the last time Big Oil can do this to them.
