I've been reading about
representatives. The link below discusses the method, and states that a number of nations have moved to that form of elections. The advantages given are that it eliminates/greatly reduces concerns about gerrymandering and it tends to provide a chance for more groups to be represented, such as 3rd parties. I'd like to learn more about it. Is it just a better form for parliamentary forms of government? Would it work equally well in the US? It seems to me that eliminating the effects of gerrymandering should help restore some trust in government, and cause more citizens to think their vote counts. (Districts that have been gerrymandered would seem to cause those in the dominant AND those in the minority party to feel their vote is not that important.)
