In fact, the poll numbers moved in the opposite direction.
He endorsed Strange the night of August 8th.
In a poll conducted August 5-6, Moore led Strange by 8 points (30% vs. 22%, when Brooks was still in the race at 19%).
In another poll conducted August 8-9, Moore led Strange by 8.1 points (30.7% vs. 22.6%, with Brooks at 18.1%).
In the final composite poll before the vote, Moore led Strange by 11 points (52.5% vs. 41.5%).
Moore won the election by 9.8 points (54.9% vs. 45.1%).
