This opinion should not be on the list. It is not fake news. But it does continue Krugman's descent into clownish opinions that began about 12 years with his ridiculous 'evaluation' of the Bush SS privatization proposal. Namely, Krugman indicated that poor investment choices made in the private portion (proposed to be limited to vanilla index options in fixed income and equities, and cash) would jeopardize the value in the non-privatized portion and one could end up with zero. He later retracted that Nobel prize-winning observation but stupid things like that happen when one views economics principally through a partisan hack lens, and that's exactly what Krugman has become. His call on the current economy given proposed policies 18 months ago are not remotely serious.
