I do worry about the impact on foreign governments sharing intelligence

with the US.

1. The President has made clear he doesn't trust the FBI or Intelligence community.

2. Americans' trust in the FBI is already lower because Republican leaders keep pushing to discredit them for political reasons (to cover for the President under investigation).

3. It sounds like Americans' trust in the FBI would be further eroded by the politically motivated release of allegedly cherry-picked, incomplete, and misleading information in the Nunes memo.

4. The President stupidly revealed to Russians in the Oval Office highly classified information that exposed sources and methods of Israeli intelligence.

5. Depending on what is or is not redacted, release of the Nunes memo could reveal classified information, possibly also including classified sources and methods of intelligence.

So....if you are a foreign government and have intelligence suggesting a terrorist attack on US soil (as one random example), how willing would you be to share that info with US FBI/intelligence, knowing that the President won't trust the info coming from FBI/intelligence, the American public is less likely to trust the info coming from FBI/intelligence, and doing so would legitimately risk your classified information and sources and methods being revealed by the President for no good reason or by government leadership solely for their political gain?

Is that a likely scenario? No. But there are a lot of unintended (and long-term) consequences of the attack on our institutions for short-term political gain.
