I did watch the whole thing and all I could think when he was on was

"Why the hell couldn't he overcome Trump? Thanks a lot Chris Christie!" Kasich was my first choice but once it was clear he was going nowhere (despite hanging on longer), I hopped aboard the Rubio train. I don't disagree with Boca that he can come off a bit shallow and lightweight, but holy cow, I would take him over the alternatives we were given without blinking an eye. And there are a lot more disingenuous and more lightweight pols out there for sure. Of course the left that claim they would love him now couldn't resist trashing him at every turn in the primaries, and allegedly even jumped into GOP primaries to defeat him by voting for Trump. Oops.

Sure the intransigent anti-gun crowd will never love him for the reasons you cite, but IMO he showed what makes this and other topics so difficult to get anything done. Rubio showed a willingness to be thoughtful and move left on the topic, and an ability to understand what are actual solutions. Nelson on the other hand showed he intends to stay intransigent and is incapable of anything beyond spouting the silly party lines.

BTW as an aside, I also saw CT Dem Congressman Jim Himes on with Tucker last night. I thought he was a welcome breath of fresh air from the anti-gun crowd, and was well versed on the issues. I may not agree with him 100% but I would take him over the usual anti-gun pols trotted out by the left. I hope he'll be more involved on the National scene going forward.
