Mainly because I don't think Sanders (who was once known as a fairly pro-gun dem, although of course moved away from that when he ran as a dem) or even Warren advocate an American society without guns. And if they do, it ain't happening.

If we could look at it rationally, I think most proposals on guns up to and including age restrictions and even a ban on assault-style rifles and high capacity magazines don't come close to a true assault on gun ownership. Much closer to a tweak from the current ease of gun access than a major shift towards a gun-free society.

So I suspect public officials still would need armed guards. And if we get to a more British like gun-light society in a few generations, then I imagine many public officials would be thrilled to let their body guards leave their guns at home.

So I still don't see what point you were trying to make here.
