Ok but I started this by saying it's hard to take the gun ban crowd

seriously...., so I'm not sure why you jumped in with the immediate "NRA would never allow" stuff if you're not even arguing for a gun ban, and support stiff punishments.

Just TBC I agree with what you just wrote 99%. I only withhold 1% because I can at least respect the argument that 18 yr olds should be able to protect themselves too. But even there, it's pretty tough IMO to argue that if they're already prevented from buying handguns until they're 21, that they shouldn't have to wait for any type of gun.
