Neutrality isn't going to obscure. Not as long as there's a CNN and a WAPO and NYT and MSNBC and a whole host of others that more or less reside in the other echo chamber. Somebody other than FOX completely owning this echo chamber has its benefits.

This is the lay of the land. It's the media market we make for ourselves. News is now a profit center, and so it tries to appeal to different segments. It's one part of how we have to adjust to new tech realities. And having members of each echo chamber make these statements of principle, even when they fail to live up to them, isn't the worst thing.

The right wing echo chamber is much more fertile ground for conspiracy theories. More mob like influence. IMO anyway. So I think more media competition on the right is probably good, even if it's kinda looney.
