Really? It's the media's fault? Are you for real?

First of all, if it weren't for Trump's all out effort to ignite a controversy over this march of their "not best people", we wouldn't even know about it. These types of organized processions up through Mexico, just to try to facilitate some measure of order, have been organized many times before, generally by Mexican NGOs I think - refugee advocates. The US survived them all! We didn't even know about them before this weekend.

And Trump uses them to poop on DACA - "they are coming to get on board with the DACA program!" which is of course false. Nobody on the other side of the border now and since 2007 is eligible.

And the idea is this pathetic march of largely women clutching kids to escape out of control gang violence in Central America is sort of an invading force. In Palmyra's case, they're just coming to take all our free stuff!

You don't have to agree with accepting even a single one of them as a refugee. But when you so proactively make a political football of this miserable procession of desperate humanity, replete with massive steaming piles of bullshit at every turn, yeah, decent people will see that as cruel. Not because the media reports it. Because Trump does it, and the repubs jump right up on board with it.
