There is no correlation between the various accusations against the Kennedys and the Clintons. And very importantly, the Kennedys largely existed in a pre-Watergate world, before the media learned how well scandal sells.

Powerful people with money have access to levers to remain out of trouble that the rest of us don't. No question. Just ask OJ. It's by no means confined to politics. I'm all for trying to level that playing field.

Just locking people up because we decide they're criminals - especially in politics, where it can be weaponized - is not the approach. Trump's "lock her up!" nonsense was third-world dictator stuff. Fascinates me that anyone would vote for someone who would do that.

The biggest threat to this country, which I personally think Trump feeds, is this creeping loss of appreciation so many people seem to have for the concepts of liberal democracy, including standards for criminal prosecution. Innocent until proven guilty, right to face accusers, trivial stuff like that. The world used to be a misery without it, and still is in most places.

But in the US we've begun to take it for granted. Far greater risk than some political conviction that pols are getting away with crimes we have no proof they committed.
