Then when busing was instituted in my 6th grade of school, even though I could walk to 3 different elementary schools that were within a mile of my house, I was bus’ed one hour across town to an inner city school. Nobody gave me a car.
This article said this kid had a 90 min journey to school not that he walked 90 minutes for his final year. He obviously had a bus ride for some part of his trip. It doesn’t say how much of his senior year but I’ll assume it was his choice that he didn’t want to go to a closer school. That’s fine by me but all I said was I hope this isn’t the best story of the year. It sounds more like the kid just lucked out & got a really nice participation trophy.
