It isn't that simple because we can't vote in the elections that matter


I'm represented exclusively by Democrats from city council all the way through the Governor and Congress - Trump is the only Republican representing me and he didn't come particularly close to winning my state. The only way for people like me to have any meaningful political influence is to move to a more conservative area and be part of the community there. (People generally don't like being told what to do by outsiders so I'm not going to waste my time pissing into the wind by lobbying somewhere else.) Since my job more or less keeps me tethered to where I am, I basically have no useful course of action and I know I'm not alone.
