Good question Tuck. I will always consider myself a Virginian. My father's

family came to the Valley in 1722. The German side came in 1778. My mother's family were Sicilians who moved to Waynesboro -- from Chicago -- in 1955.

My first job was in Roanoke. However after I left to work in Charlotte, I never was able to move back. Each job change, I sent resume after resume to Virginia. I have never even had so much as an interview. Now, I find I hate the cold too much to move back as much as I would love to see UVa: football, soccer, basketball and baseball.

So while I still consider myself to be a Virginian, I have lived in the Carolinas longer.

As to your question; I don't think we move based on people trying to take away our freedoms. I didn't move from Virginia during Nixon's reign. I won't move from here, to just get away from the disgusting NCGOP. Nothing last forever. These bums will get sorted out in God's own time. We just have to be patient and do what we can do.
