Here here, but the primary system unfortunately


caters to the extremes of both political parties. Most Americans aren't engaged enough to vote for who their candidates will be in the big elections.

I think the two party system is showing major signs of failure in America. It really requires a more educated citizenry. The media feeds off pitting one side against the other. It's good for ratings, but terrible for the country. Parliamentary systems with multiple political parties are superior in this day and age, imo. They foster more compromise because it's necessary.
