pushing the notion that the press and law enforcement are not to be trusted with a sizable minority of the population that chooses to believe him is a terrible thing for this country (and I would question anyone with a brain that doesn't concur).

sure- there is probably a bit of left-leaning bias in parts of the MSM. we should continue to seek information (and perspectives as long as they are acknowledged as such) from a variety of sources and continue to hold the press accountable. but I really do feel like an open, free press is a critical piece of our democracy, and I'm pretty shocked by how many on this board and elsewhere are OK with the attacks (regardless of the political leanings of the people involved, this is more important than politics).
