So I did some digging. About those 19,051 people from the European
Values Survey that make up 75% of the 25K combined survey respondents they compiled for this study...
Best I can tell (will admit I could be wrong), that's from question 147 of the 1981 European Values Study:
"How often, if at all, do you have the feeling that life is meaningless?"
It looks like that question wasn't repeated in the 1990, 1999, or 2008 surveys (2017 has yet to be published).
A study driven by a question in a European survey conducted 37 years ago seems pretty legit. :-)
