I moved here in 1980. Haven't seriously considered anyplace else since.


You're hitting most of the hot spots. Getting a ferry ride in? You might consider going over to Bainbridge for the day or over to Friday Harbor when you pass Anacortes on your way back from BC.

Oh yeah, on your way either up or back from Canada, you might try stopping in the Fairhaven part of Bellingham for lunch and then driving down the Chuckanut Drive (WA 11) until it hooks back up to I-5 in Burlington (reverse the order going north). Built in 1909, it is a winding, scenic 2 lane highway with drop-offs down to the Pacific below. It'll take longer but it is breath taking. If you're the one driving though avoid the temptation to stare and keep your eyes on the road. If you go off, it'll all be over but the shouting!
