If we're following precedent as in the Thomas case


then this claim by Ford pales in comparison (and Thomas was eventually confirmed). There is no evidence to support Ford's claim and the only other people that she claims were involved both deny it happened.

If anything, this potentially sets up future precedent for anybody to have the ability to derail our political processes with any claim (valid or otherwise).
