My problems with the GOP tax cuts' impact on the deficit

were mainly because of the hypocrisy of the GOP pretending to care about deficits when Dems were in office before exploding them with Trump (and Bush). So like the 'mob' stuff, the attacks on the Dems were done in bad faith. The GOP really doesn't care about deficits, so Dems shouldn't feel compelled to answer them on it. Being fiscally responsible is a rational thing to do, but we shouldn't take GOP complaints about it seriously ever again.

There is also some annoyance that Keynesian economics states that in times of economic expansion we should tap the brakes and pay down the debt, but that's low on my priority list.

If we're doing free money giveaways, my vote would be to kids with families at low incomes. American kids shouldn't be going hungry. Give low income families with kids money to ensure they will always have enough to eat. A few thousand bucks for kids at risk would significantly help the poverty problem in the US.
