We've been the global military leader for three generations and it has nothing but a headache. Anything we do is categorically wrong. Human rights are still under attack across the globe and no one gives a shit unless it is us or Israel. The Chinese are recolonizing Africa and building up military bases on artificial islands in the Pacific and no one gives a shit. The Russians annex neighboring territories and no one gives a shit. Parts of Africa, Central, and South America are in such bad shape that people will do anything to GTFO and no one gives a shit. Yemen and Syria are being blown back to the stone age and no one gives a shit. If we intervene, we're wrong. If we don't intervene, we're wrong.

Fuck it. Let this correction in globalization run its course. It is time for us to circle the wagons and focus on domestic issues. The opportunity cost of this global police force role is too high. If someone decides to invade you, it is too fucking bad. Maybe you should have done something while you were sipping wine and going to global summits. If you're unhappy with migration from the Middle East, talk to Saudi Arabia and Iran. They're right there. If you're unhappy with migration from Africa, talk to China. They bought it, they own it. We'll focus our attention on the Americas where our efforts have half a chance of being welcomed.
