Yes, so they couldn't be "weaponized" by a million or so self-appointed
"auditors" with the same "honesty" as those repeatedly claiming tweeting Roger Stone's words is clear evidence of witness tampering and obstruction of justice. I suspect he also didn't want the fact that he's probably not as rich or generous as he boasts about weaponized against him, and more importantly to him, his ego, either.
It would be nice if we could indeed expect to see these and have honest and fair discussion and presentation about them, but I suspect those days are long gone. The difference is, unlike Mitt, he managed to overcome not releasing them and get elected anyway. So I suspect he won't be the last to do so.
