I did it for my Mom and brother.

I went to a friend's funeral in my early twenties. I watch people speak for him who did not really know him. I said never again, and promised I would speak at any funeral moving forward.

I did another friend, my MIL, brother, and Mom. Mom was tough, and I think I will pass on my Dad and let my oldest brother do it.

My brother was off the cuff. I had thought about doing it, but did not think I could hold myself together. The priest was horrible. The funeral was horrible. I whispered in the priest's ear I wanted to speak. I spoke for a good long time, got through it, and when done the place was full of tears of joy and love.

I happen to be pretty good at it, but I am determine if someone is going to cry, it will be out of joy, not sadness. Funerals are celebrations of life.

There is no doubt you could do it in my mind, just speak from your heart.
