The 1st degree was the only question. How much premeditation constitutes

first degree in Virginia? It's hard for me to believe that he left Ohio planning on running over people in his car. I heard very little evidence that was presented but nothing that would say he left whatever prior gathering in his car looking to hurt somebody. If he comes across a group of counterprotesters, watches for a few minutes, boils to a rage and runs into them is that premeditation? I thought 2nd degree was pretty likely.

Obviously nothing above should be taken as excusing or rationalizing what he did, he deserves whatever is coming to him. Just wondering about legal definitions.
