it much myself, but I try not to let my prejudices get in the way of the potential for revenues or the elimination of enforcement costs. But I kind of prefer that gambling be in limited spaces. I can't imagine living in a city like Las Vegas where that is the primary source of business.

Marijuana legalization is really a no-brainer as several states are in the process of proving. It's legit to ask about the potential health impacts, both positive and negative. Then again, tobacco and alcohol are clearly more deadly and we know for a variety of reasons that prohibition didn't work. But the savings in law enforcement costs, reduction in incarceration and tax revenue potential are undeniable.

Prostitution legalization is a little complicated, but arguably legalization would have public health benefits, certainly crime reduction and safety for the workers, and allow for better focus on getting rid of trafficking. Like gambling it might should be limited to specific areas, but there are models that might be followed from Nevada, to Toronto, to Amsterdam.

But again, I think they all deserve separate discussions, rather than a blanket "freedom" argument.
