I've seen people cash out equity shares at white shoe law firms and leave a thriving practice to someone else in the dead of night for jobs like White House COS. The dividends being a high-profile official pay longterm are hard to even quantify.

Now? You can't pay people enough to work for this administration. Doing so is more likely to damage your career than to help it. Everyone knows this president is going down in a blaze of un-glory and the last thing anyone with a grain of sense wants is the last seat on the Titanic. It's sad to see and can't end soon enough.
