asked for in your budget even though it's less than the full cost of the Wall WHICH A MAJORITY OF AMERICANS AND PEOPLE WHO LIVE ALONG THE BORDER DON'T WANT is not a compromise. (Maybe it will sink in if I shout?) If he wanted all that money, why didn't he ask for it? That $1.6 billion was the budget request he (underlined) asked for in the budget he sent to Congress. Why didn't he ask for $5+ billion? The continuing resolution that expired gave him $1.3 billion. The one that was passed that he wouldn't sign also allowed him to continue spending the $1.3 billion authorized in the expiring CR.

What changed? Anne, Sean, and Rush screamed at him and the Ds took over the House. The toddler-in-chief decided to play Mr. Macho, waving it around in the air. Pelosi took out a magnifying glass and cut it off. He hasn't compromised at all about anything. He suddenly pulled that $5.6 billion figure out of his huge ass and like a petulant toddler threatened hold his breath until he gets his way. Well, he gladly claimed credit for the shutdown and he doesn't like the results because everyone in every poll is blaming him and the GOP for this. He's going to take the GOP down with him. Good. Maybe they'll come to their senses and purge the Trumpons and Newtsters and start acting like adults in their new incarnation.
