Well, it's illegal to receive something of value from a foreign government

Mueller was struggling with proving the value of what Trump was receiving. Not being able to prove it was illegal doesn't make it legal.

I also have serious reservations about openly working with a hostile foreign government who we know is attacking us. It was publicly known in August that Russia was attacking the DNC. Despite that, Team Trump was working with them. And they lied about working with them, repeatedly. That is not a good look.
