I think that will ultimately have to be an answer. People can shrug this
off like Seattle Hoo, and like him, I won't lose any sleep over it either... but I'm also not an elite female athlete nor do I have daughters who are athletes that literally have no chance at competing at the highest level against a biological male.
I think the demand for change will come from the female athletes.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think there will be a problem of biological males "fake" identifying as females to dominate a sport... I think the requirements around testosterone levels are pretty rigorous. But the advantage that a biological male who "legitimately" identifies as a female has over biological females is just too great, such that even an average biological male athlete with the right training could dominate against elite female athletes in many sports.
